Mila Merker
Mila
Merker was born
in Bellinzona,
son of a Doctor
from Geneva and
a Tessiner business-woman.
After living
his first years
in Geneva the
family moved to
the Tessin, where
Mila attended
the primary school
in Losone, followed
by grammar and
high school at the
Collegio Papio
in Ascona, where
he obtained his
A-Level certificate
in 1987.
During these
years he also
had his first
working experiences
in his mother’s
company - the
Camping Delta
in Locarno - as
a bathing-attendant,
general worker,
and receptionist. He
then continued
his studies at
the renowned Dolmetscher
Schule in Zurich,
and in March 1993
he obtained his
degree as a translator.
During his numerous
study-travels
abroad Mila developed
an intense passion
for the underwater
world, which led
him to specializing
as a diving instructor.
This new job kept
him working many
years in the Red
Sea and the Maldives,
where he met his
future wife, Petra.
Mila is proficient
in four languages:
Italian, French,
German and English.
His hobbies - besides
diving -
are high-mountain
trekking, travelling
abroad, music,
reading and the
cinema.
Since 1998
Mila Merker has
been at the head
of the
Camping Delta as
General Manager. |

Silvia Rossetti
|
Silvia Rossetti works
since August 2004 for
the administration of
Camping Delta. She is
responsible for the incoming
and outgoing mails, the
seasonal guests and the
leasehold properties.
For many years she
lived in Basle and
Lucerne where she worked
as a secretary for
an insurance, for an
hotel and for a chiropractor.
Before coming back
to Ticino she spent
one year in London.
Silvia Rossetti grew
up in Ticino, went
to the compulsory schools
in Locarno and did
her commercial degree
in Bellinzona.
She
speaks fluent French,
German and English,
is open and talkative.
Silvia
is married to Claudio,
has a daughter and
a son. In her spare
time she loves reading,
skiing, bike-riding
and travelling. |

Pascal
Battagello
|
Pascal Battagello was born
in Neuchâtel on the
24th of August 1973. Son of
a Swiss Italian father and
a Swiss German mother who
both grew up and met in Lucerne.
Due to his father’s
career his family moved several
times around the country
(Neuchâtel, Liechtenstein,
Ticino, French speaking and
German speaking part of Switzerland).
In 1990, after more
than ten years, the
family moved definitely
back to Ascona in Ticino,
where Pascal obtained
his A-Level certificates
in 1995. After military
service he decided
to study at the Hotel-Management-School
in Thun, where he obtained
his diploma in 1999.
At the beginning of
the Millennium he made
his first work experience
for a hotel in Ascona.
During the following
years he worked for
different hotels in
Locarno and Ascona.
After almost eight
years he decided to
take a slightly different
direction and accepted
the job as Guest Manager
at Camping Delta from
the beginning of 2008.
Because
of his bilingual parents
and living in different
regions of Switzerland
he speaks German, Swiss-German,
French, Italian and
English.
Pascal has
a passion for all music
genders - especially
jazz and blues - and
for his electric guitar,
which he never really
learned to play! In the
spare time he has interests
for walking in the mountains
and for esotericism. |

Grant Dow
Grant
Dow, born in Peterborough,
England on the
18th of February
1966.
At the age of
four his parents
immigrated to
Brisbane, Australia
where he started
his compulsory
school education,
which he finished
in Peterborough
after his family
returned to England
3 years later.
While continuing
his studies in
London, at the
age of 17 he was
also working part
time for The Wildfowl
Trust bird sanctuary.
On vacation in
the south of Switzerland
during the summer
of 1985 he was
taken back by
the landscapes
and climate of
Canton Ticino.
When an opportunity
arose to return
to Ticino a year
and half later
he jumped at it
and a year later
started a 3-year
apprenticeship
with a well-known
local landscaping
company.
After successfully
completing his
formation in 1992
he was employed
by Camping Delta
in January 1993
as the head gardener
and a few years
later given also
the responsibility
for some of the
technical aspects
as a Technical
Manager who is
as well responsible
for the ambience
of the campsite.
During
his free time
he is involved
in various music
projects and enjoys
walking in the
mountains and
riding his mountain
bike in the valleys
of Ticino. He
also spends his
winter vacation
traveling and
has had the opportunity
to visit countries
on all five continents. |
